Accumulator Kit

The accumulators have a primary purpose to catch and hold any unused portion of the system charge. The also prevents liquid slugging of the compressor and excessive refrigerant dilution of the compressor oil. The accumulator returns refrigerant and oil to the compressor at a sufficient rate. The inlet tube may be identified by the deflector plate located approximately 2 in. from the top of the opening. There is no deflector on the outlet tube.

• U-tube design allows for maximum flow of refrigerant with minimum pressure drop and oil entrapment. Includes copper fittings.
• Inlet flow deflector guides refrigerant toward accumulator wall for smooth flow and gradual expansion
• Accumulators should normally be sized to be capable of holding 50% of the refrigerant charge in TXV systems, and 70% in fixed orifice systems proper sizing ensures optimum liquid refrigerant and oil flow back to the compressor
• Protective screen and orifice assembly protects against foreign particles and contaminants from affecting metering function
• Solid copper connections
• Powder paint coating exceeds ASTM 500 hour salt spray tests
• Integral 430F fuse plug is included as a safety feature for releasing internal system pressure in the event the accumulator is exposed to excessively high temperatures.
• Suitable for R-22 and R-410A, 355 psig design pressure
