  • RUUD limited parts warranties typically apply to the original homeowner. If the home is sold, coverage may revert to the base limited warranty from the original installation date unless an approved extended protection plan was purchased and properly transferred.

  • Yes. RUUD's limited warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship for eligible R-22 systems based on the original warranty terms in effect at the time of manufacture. However, the warranty does not cover refrigerant supply, refrigerant replacement due to phase-out, or retrofit costs. Only defective components are covered under standard warranty terms.

  • The warranty begins on the original installation date. If the unit is registered within the required timeframe (60 days), it qualifies for the extended 10-year limited parts coverage (where applicable). If not registered, coverage defaults to the base limited warranty period. Warranty status can be verified using the serial number through RUUD's online warranty verification tool.

  • Yes. RUUD packaged units (including packaged heat pumps and packaged gas/electric systems) are eligible for the same limited parts warranty structure as split systems. When properly registered, they qualify for the extended limited parts coverage under RUUD's residential warranty program.

  • Yes. RUUD allows registration of individual components such as furnaces, air handlers, or condensers. A complete matched system is not required for registration. Each unit can be registered individually to receive its applicable limited warranty coverage.

  • RUUD recommends using factory-approved matched components. Installing a non-approved or mismatched indoor coil may impact system performance and could affect warranty eligibility. To ensure full warranty coverage, always verify that the indoor coil and outdoor unit are AHRI-matched and RUUD-approved combinations.
